Language of Color

“Flowers are the music of the ground from earth’s lips spoken without sound.” — Edwin Curran

Expressive florals, flowing pigment, and vibrant layers of color spoke loudly to me so I called it Language of Color. Having fun, I used loose brushwork and luminous watercolors to create a joyful composition where blossoms seem to emerge naturally through movement, spontaneity, and light.

One of a Kind Original

Artist’s Thoughts

With Language of Color, I wanted the painting to feel expressive, uplifting, and full of movement — almost as though the flowers were communicating through color rather than form. I allowed watercolor to flow freely across the paper, encouraging soft edges, layered transparency, and spontaneous textures to emerge naturally throughout the piece.

Rather than focusing on precise realism, I explored the emotional energy created through color relationships, contrast, and gesture. The result is a floral composition that feels lively, atmospheric, and open to personal interpretation.
